Creating Libraries and providing physical and digital literacy resources for Schools, Community Libraries, and supporting existing literacy partners trough training librarians and ongoing book distribution of BAI donated resources. Outreach Events: Reading Competitions, Reading Camps/Clubs and participate in any literacy approach promoting reading & writing culture in collaboration with other literacy stakeholders Child Early Development interventions: equip ECD schools with didactic and literacy materials, and train ECD caregivers with basic ECD services and early literacy management skills.
Community Empowerment
Seminars & Conferences - Skills and knowledge transfer through hosting training sessions for skills development through the Work for Life seminars, especially for youth and women. Job Creation - Through start-up resources, saving groups, and skills training for Social Enterprise (SE) initiatives such as sewing Days-for-Girls pads, Weaving Library portable bags, and ECD toy making. Organization Capacity Building - Develop a Community Center in Shyorongi, Rulindo District, Northern Province to host a Community ECD, a Community Library, and expand the Jabana BAI Distribution Center to Shyorongi to serve the Northern & Western Districts literacy partners.
Health
Wellbeing of Children and Women - Strengthening maternal health through reproductive health seminars and distributing/producing ladies menstrual recyclable Hygienic pads & providing medical health care for vulnerable families. Nutrition - Work with community leaders to identify vulnerable households, support and do monitoring interventions in ECDs to improve children nutrition status Hosting nutrition seminars for community kitchen garden - Uturima twigikoni creation for vulnerable families and providing domestic animals for animal proteins and farming manure to increase food provision.
