Today, in Musanze District, Northern Province, Ineza Foundation, in partnership with Book Aid International, officially handed over more than 1,000 books of various categories to INES Ruhengeri University, as part of efforts to promote a strong culture of reading and writing and to support quality education.

The handover ceremony was attended by the university management, students, and representatives of Ineza Foundation. The initiative was warmly welcomed by students, who highlighted that the donation has significantly expanded their learning opportunities and improved their access to academic and general knowledge resources.

The donated books include academic materials aligned with the courses taught at INES Ruhengeri, general knowledge resources, research publications, history books, and personal development materials. At a time when the world is rapidly advancing in technology, both students and university leadership emphasized that physical books remain highly valuable, as they encourage focused reading, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of content compared to relying solely on digital resources.

Victory Yves Hategekimana, a student at INES Ruhengeri, expressed his appreciation, saying:
“These books are very helpful because they increase our access to reading materials, improve our understanding of courses, and support effective research. Reading physical books allows us to study attentively and truly enjoy the learning process.”

Many students noted that the availability of a wide range of books has renewed their enthusiasm for reading, both for academic purposes and for expanding general knowledge. Others added that reading physical books helps reduce fatigue caused by excessive screen time, enabling them to study in a more comfortable and focused way.

Vestine Uwizeyimana, another student at INES Ruhengeri, shared her perspective, stating:
“Receiving these books means more than just adding resources to our library. For us as students, it creates a learning environment where we can explore ideas deeply, think critically, and study without over-reliance on digital screens. This donation has renewed our motivation to read, research, and grow academically.”

Jean Bosco Baribeshya, Vice Chancellor of INES Ruhengeri, highlighted that the donation will play a significant role in improving the quality of education and strengthening research among both students and faculty members.

“Books are the backbone of quality education. This contribution will greatly support our efforts to better prepare students, both academically and in research, especially in an era where technology continues to grow but must be complemented by physical learning resources,” he said.

Janvier Niyonsaba, a representative of Ineza Foundation, stated that the initiative aligns with the organization’s mission to support young people through education, promote a reading culture, and help build a knowledge-based future.

“In partnership with Book Aid International, we are committed to empowering students by providing learning resources that expand their knowledge, build confidence, and prepare them to become future leaders,” he added.

Ineza Foundation continues to demonstrate its commitment to advancing education and sustainable development through initiatives aimed at supporting youth and communities by ensuring equitable access to learning opportunities.
