Rulindo District, June 13, 2025 Ineza Foundation reiterated its dedication to community-driven progress and uplifting young people during the Rulindo Youth Exhibition, a three-day event organized by the District Joint Action Forum (DJAF) as part of the broader JADF Open Day.
Bringing together government institutions, civil society, and private sector actors, the exhibition showcased services designed to drive community transformation.
Participating for the third consecutive year, Ineza Foundation used the platform to promote its community-based initiatives, including its library in Base Sector, which serves both children and adults. “We’re excited to join this event again,” said Janvier Niyonsaba, Program Manager at Ineza Foundation. “Our library supports literacy and Early Childhood Development (ECD), helping communities across the country.”
The organization’s stand featured more than books. It also displayed handmade educational toys, dolls, school bags, jewelry, and woven baskets all created by parents involved in its income-generating programs. These items reflect both cultural heritage and the foundation’s commitment to economic resilience for vulnerable families.

Niyonsaba noted that children and youth made up 80% of the exhibition visitors to their stand.
“We encourage students to use libraries not only for academics but also to develop practical life skills. Parents also have a vital role in nurturing a culture of reading at home.”
He called for stronger collaboration between civil society and local governments to create more opportunities for youth. “We appreciate Rulindo District’s support and urge continued investment in grassroots efforts that reduce vulnerability.”
The event also drew a wide range of partners, including youth cooperatives, NGOs, and private sector institutions like Sina Gérard’s Urwibutso Enterprises. Together, exhibitors promoted innovation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive development.
Northern Province Governor Maurice Mugabowagahunde commended the initiative, urging improved coordination for greater impact. “It’s inspiring to see the growing involvement of youth. We must now focus on outcomes of more innovation, job creation, and reduced malnutrition.”
Echoing his remarks, Rulindo District Council President Aimable Dusabirane emphasized the importance of public participation: “This exhibition brings citizens closer to the programs shaping their communities.”
Held annually, the Rulindo JADF Open Day remains a vital platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, highlighting the pivotal role of youth, women, and grassroots actors in advancing sustainable development.
